The 3rd annual Club Championships took place over the weekend of 21st and 22nd October 2017 with 14 teams taking part. Orwell Ladies were playing in a section of 8 which included Dunfermline, Inverkeithing, K2, Fossoway, Borland, Kinross and Orwell. We were the only ladies club that entered. Angela Wilcox and Sue Cameron played all the games, with Allison Pirie, Caroline Liddle, Eileen Thomas, Edna Nelson and Maggie Saunderson playing 1 or 2 games each.

The first game, plat was against K2, skipped by Johnjo Kenny. We held our own in the game and led from the start. Only 2 absolutely superb shots from Johnjo in the last end allowed him to catch up and peel the game.

The second game was against Dunfermline, who went on to win the competition. It was a great game, ending up at 8 – 6 to them, but we took 5 of the ends and kept in it all the way.

In the last game we met Inverkeithing and won that one 8 – 2.
