RCCC Competitions

Orwell Ladies take part in the following competitions run by the Royal Caledonian Curling Club.

The Morton is a ladies competition. The participants here are ice rinks not clubs. There are 4 groups, each containing 4 or 5 ice rinks. Each ice rink plays the others in their group, either at home or away, and the winner of each group progresses to the Morton Finals. The matches are made up of 3 rinks and there are 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw. Ladies clubs pass on the names of their players who would like to play to the ladies branch who compile the teams. The finals have historically always taken place in Kirkcaldy, however this may change in the future.

Grand Match

An indoor Grand Match is held every 5 years. This is organised by the RCCC. The last Grand Match took place in October 2015. Clubs from all over Scotland take part in a North versus South competition spread out over all the curling rinks. Orwell Ladies enter 2 teams.
