Magical Mystery Tour

Summer Outing 2019

The 2019 summer outing took place on 29 August and was a magical mystery bus tour!

Vice President Alicia Hay said these words after the event:

I just wanted to send a huge vote of thanks to our Social Committee who so ably organised our Summer Social Outing.

10am we all boarded the bus for our pre departure debrief from Frances ably assisted by Lesley and Rosie so that we were prepared for every eventuality from using our seat belts to life vests if we hit water, I kid you not everything was covered including a social behaviour pep talk with a laugh which got everyone off to a good start on our Magical Mystery Tour…we still didn’t know where we were going!

First treat, who has gone over the old Forth Road Bridge of late (unless you have the free bus pass!).  It was then a stop for lovely coffee and scones at Craigie’s Farm Shop with a browse round the shop.

Back onto the bus, 12.00 by now when Fiona leaps into action to get the bar open which flowed until we reached our destination with a little quiz to keep us going on the way.  Once we reached North Berwick we had time to walk along the beach, browse the shops, visit the sea life centre before a lovely lunch on the seafront.

Back on the coach, bar open and let the karaoke start with a little interval for the quiz results and prize giving.  I don’t think many noticed the queues on the by-pass!

There are many thanks to be made for organising this day so well.  Firstly our dream team of Social Committee, Lesley, Frances and Rosie who did a tremendous job and thank you so much for all your preparation to ensure that the day ran so well.  My second huge thank you is to Fiona Rutherford who very kindly arranged the luxurious coach and supplied all the onboard refreshments.

A great day, and thank you again to everyone who contributed and all who attended.
