20 American ladies visited Kinross on Friday 18th November as part of the USWCA Tour to Scotland 2016. After the traditional canopy of brooms welcome with piper Scott Barr the hosts and visitors sat down to get to know each other over lunch. This was followed by some retail therapy at the cashmere mill shop and the Shop at the Green.

Back at the rink the piper led everyone out, but Donald led a short warmup session before allowing the curlers onto the ice. You can get a taste of it in Stacie Pinnavaia’s video.

Kinross performed well in the games, winning one, peeling one and loosing 2. Overall the American ladies were up by 3 shots. Congratulations to Edna Nelson,  with Angela Wilcox, Maggie Saunderson and Sandra Richie, on skipping the winning rink. Other Orwell Ladies who were playing were Liz Glennie (skip), Jane Drysdale, Maggie Scott (skip) and Caroline Liddle.

After drinks everyone made their way to the Kirklands for dinner and entertainment. A very enjoyable evening was had by all involved.
